SUTTON & EPSOM
RFC
Sutton & Epsom, founded in 1881 and born out of the Sutton Bicycle Club, is one of the oldest active rugby clubs in England with a proud and magnificent history. A timeline of all the open clubs in Greater London which have existed since the RFU was formed in 1871, reveals that only the gilded quartet of Blackheath, Harlequins, Richmond and Wasps can claim a greater age. We first played against Saracens as far back as 1883-84, as one of their very early opponents, and in 1901 beat Stade Francais on their home turf.
